Wendi Andriano is a woman who gained notoriety for being convicted of murdering her husband, Joe Andriano, in 2000. She was sentenced to death for the crime, which was committed in Phoenix, Arizona. Wendi poisoned her husband with a lethal dose of arsenic and then bludgeoned him to death with a bar stool.
During her trial, it was revealed that Wendi had been physically and emotionally abused by her husband for years leading up to the murder. However, the prosecution argued that Wendi's motive for killing her husband was financial gain as she stood to inherit a significant life insurance policy upon his death.
Despite her claims of self-defense and allegations of abuse, Wendi Andriano was found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to death. She is currently on death row in Arizona and has exhausted all of her appeals.
